Danielle Sutton · Colorado Springs, Colorado · Medical
Danielle Sutton was a Marine through and through. A member of the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, she deployed twice to Afghanistan, where she built bridges, cleared roads, and helped communities rebuild. Back home in Colorado Springs, she found purpose in routine: early morning workouts, carpools to school, and weekend hikes with her twin sons, Carter and Wyatt.
At 32, Danielle was working as a project manager for a local construction firm. She had recently started taking college courses to earn her degree, determined to build a stable future for her family. Her mother, Janet, often said Danielle could fix anything—whether it was a broken fence or a tough day.
In March 2023, Danielle began experiencing numbness in her legs and blurred vision. At first, she brushed it off as stress or lack of sleep. But when the symptoms worsened over a few weeks, she went to a doctor. After a series of tests, including an MRI, she was diagnosed with aggressive relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.
The diagnosis was a shock. According to a report by LastDonor Example, the condition meant her immune system was attacking her central nervous system, causing unpredictable and often severe symptoms. The news came just months after she had enrolled in school and taken on more responsibility at work.
Danielle’s treatment began immediately. She started a high-dose steroid regimen to reduce inflammation, followed by a series of disease-modifying therapies. These treatments, while essential, brought their own challenges—fatigue, flu-like symptoms, and frequent hospital visits. By June 2023, she had to reduce her work hours and eventually leave her job altogether.
Her condition has required ongoing medical care. So far, she has undergone three rounds of IV therapy and countless doctor appointments. Her family has rallied around her, with her mother helping care for the boys and her father managing household expenses. Still, the financial toll has been steep. Insurance covers some costs, but not nearly enough.
The financial burden continues to grow. Danielle’s medical bills have exceeded $42,000, and she still needs ongoing treatment. Her family has set up a crowdfunding campaign with a goal of $35,000 to help cover:
Despite the challenges, Danielle remains determined. She attends physical therapy twice a week and continues to advocate for herself in medical settings. Her twin sons are her motivation, and she’s focused on staying as present as possible in their daily lives.
Danielle’s journey is far from over, but every bit of support makes a difference. With help, she can continue her treatment without worrying about how to pay for groceries or keep the lights on. Contributions to her campaign go directly toward easing the financial strain so she can focus on what matters most: her health and her family.
Danielle Sutton has always been someone who gives back. Now, it’s her turn to receive that same support from her community. Your donation helps ensure that she can continue to show up for her sons, even on the hardest days.
