Help Maksym, a Ukrainian War Veteran and Widowed Father, Overcome a Financial Crisis
Maksym Bereznevych · Украина · Family
My name is Maksym Bereznevych. I am from Ukraine. I am a war veteran, a widower, and a single father to a young son.
Before the war, I had a normal, happy life. I worked underground in a mine, while my beloved wife, Marina, worked as a dental assistant. We loved each other deeply, dreamed of a happy future, and wanted to build a loving family.
When Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, I joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defend my homeland. After completing my military service, I returned home, hoping to rebuild my life with my family.
But in 2023, my world fell apart.
Just six months after the birth of our son, my beloved wife Marina passed away. I lost the person I loved most, and our little boy lost his mother before he had the chance to know her.
Since then, I have been trying to be both a mother and a father to my son.
Today, my son is staying with my retired parents in Ukraine while I am forced to work abroad in Europe to support him and our family. Being separated from my child is incredibly painful, but I have to keep working to give him a better future.
Following my wife's death and the difficult circumstances our family has faced, I accumulated debts that have become increasingly difficult to manage. Interest continues to grow, and despite working hard, I am struggling to keep up with the payments.
I am not asking for money for luxury or comfort. I am simply asking for a chance to escape this financial crisis and rebuild a stable life for my son.
My fundraising goal is €5,000.
This money would help me repay a significant portion of my debts, reduce the growing financial pressure, and begin rebuilding financial security for my family.
I have survived war, the loss of my beloved wife, and many difficult moments. But I refuse to give up because my little boy needs his father.
I know that many people around the world are struggling, and I understand that not everyone can help.
Even a donation of €1, €5, or €10 would mean a great deal to us. If you cannot donate, sharing my story could also make a difference.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my story, share it, or offer support.
Your kindness would give me something precious: hope for a more secure future for my son.
With gratitude,
Maksym Bereznevych
